A NEW BACKPACK.......

Everyone likes getting something new and I have a new backpack. The only bad thing is that it comes with lots of books and assignments to do in the next 57 weeks. Each Thursday I will be in class with about 24 others working on my Bachelor’s in Business Management and Human Relations with Trevecca. Thanks to Justin for believing in me and supporting me! Sometimes all you need is one person pushing you to make that first step……

Drought and a Catfish

There has been a blog drought for a loooooong time. There is really is not any specific reason except maybe summertime and I just have not had the energy to post. So here is a quick recap of the last few months:

• May - Lady Falcons made it to Sub-State and got beat by Soddy Daisy and it was a tough loss, but they are District Champs, Regional Champs, and Sub-State Runner-Up
• Maycee and Hayden finished up rec ball
• Hayden caught a 53 pound catfish in his Papa’s pond on July 5th
• Baylee went to Auburn, Alabama and MTSU softball camp
• Baylee went to Destin for a week
• Hayden and Maycee went to Fall Creek Falls
• I stayed home….

School started back the first of this month and we are all adjusting. Each year gets a bit easier as the kiddos are more independent. Hayden is the one that always wants breakfast so I told him this morning that cooking biscuits might be his new job.

Baylee tried out for a travel exposure softball team called Worth Gable and made it. She, Holley Gray, and Kaelin Dawson are going to play for this team out of Antioch, TN. They plan on playing exposure tournaments this fall in Tennessee.

Maycee is playing for North Alabama Rockets 04 this fall. I have an 8U and 18U playing travel ball…..I must be crazy. Just thankful that Hayden wants to hunt and fish…..

School starts back for me next week. I am enrolling in a Business Management program and will finish October 2012.

On the pitcher's mound.....PEP TALK!

This picture tells me a story without me even knowing the score or the opponent or what is really being said…..

Hanny is telling Tanny – Look here Tanny, we have this…..just finish it up.
Holley is smiling at Tanny cause she knows that it is time to Close the Door and that Hanny is right.
Tanny is trying to get the dirt just perfect around the pitching rubber while listening to the pep talk.
Haley is listening and ready for the win.
AND my dear Baylee is smiling thinking that in the entire world this is where she wants to be….and as her mother I am glad that she is there.

I went back and looked to see when this picture was made and it was on May 12, 2011, against Lawrenceburg there AND we won 2-1 after 2 rain delays and much tension.

Some of MY Girls.....

Hannah, Tanner, Baylee and Holley

Here are 4 of my girls ready for the 1st Annual Pink-Out game that the Lady Falcons played for breast cancer awareness on Tuesday night against Shelbyville. Landers McLarty Toyota was our corporate sponsor for the night providing tee’s to be given away at the gate that looked like the girls jerseys. Baylee called me at work about 3:30 and said "oh by the way mom there are 9 of the 19 Lady Falcons hanging out at the house". I can honestly say that I dread seeing how all their dorm rooms will look in future years because it was evident they had been at the house but I would rather them be there than anywhere else. I am just thankful that they all have such a close family relationship that they still want to hang out together when they are not at practice or on the field. Love you ladies…..glad that we are all family!

BIRTHDAY......

Happy 7th Birthday!!!!

Happy birthday to my sweet little baby girl who is 7 years old today! She chose to have strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese icing to take to the Lady Falcons softball game tonight in Tullahoma to share with all her Falcon sisters on the team! I am thankful for this little bossy girl who holds her own in everything she does….whether it is arguing with her big sister or fishing with her older brother. This picture was when she was about 6 weeks old and reminds me of a piglet…all pink and pudgy!

The winners are........THE VOLS!

We totally dominated last night at trivia night and won…without Justin! I hated that he missed the night of us winning since he is such an asset to the trivia team. BUT WE WON and get to enjoy our gift certificate the next time that we go eat at Las Trojas.

Team members: PD and Phyllis Shelton, me and my kiddos

A student again.....

Today I will begin a six week MATH class that meets two nights a week from 5 to 9. I have not even been to the first class yet, but I am looking forward to March 31. This is something that I do not want to do, but something I need to do. I am thankful for Justin who has pushed and even maybe bullied me into taking this class. His saying is that you can be poor and have nothing, but your education cannot be taken away. SO.....I am getting some more education. Too bad it is not something fun like art or photography or even geology but no it is math! I wanted to take a picture of my new school supplies and post on here, but I really need to get to work so just imagine cute matching folders, pencils and spirals in yellow and purple!
